How To Find An Address Using Social Security Number?

An individual’s social security number is the key to getting most of their details.

It can give details such as their address, driver’s license and so on. Every citizen in the US has a social security number, whether they are permanent citizens or temporary. Here is how to find an address with an SSN.

The first method is by looking for a person’s last reported address using their ssn. This address can be checked against any other documents that they may have signed for, such as leases, purchases fo property, etc. The investigator uses this information to get the most likely address. This method provides accurate data as long as the individual has not moved often over the previous 12 months before the search.

The next option is to do a utility search. This means searching for any property that the person owns. If they have acquired property or properties using the same name then the search will be easy. This kind of search is possible only if the person uses their actual name to rent or purchase the property. If they have done it under another name or have a different living situation with someone then this will be ineffective.

Then there is the guaranteed current address search. This is a process that takes about four weeks. This involves a thorough search done by an investigator.

It is important to note that not all the searches are available to members of the public. Certain professionals are allowed to use the sites that enable them to locate an individual’s address using an ssn search. There are plenty of fraudsters who can get ahold of information like this and use it for identity theft, so it is crucial to ensure that any individual that gets access to the ssn is not a fraudster.

How To Get A New Replacement Or Corrected Social Security Card

I get calls daily from people who are trying to get a replacement Social Security Card.  How To Find Someone’s Social Security Number.  I am a private investigator and I help people find someone’s Social Security number but only if they have a permissible purpose like judgment collection, wage garnishment, civil/criminal investigation.  I can’t help them with getting a replacement card.  I searched online and found out the steps to get a new, replacement or corrected Social Security Card.

Here is the process for obtaining a new, replacement or corrected Social Security card.  I obtained this information from the Social Security Administration. https://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/

If you are filing an application on behalf of someone else, you also must show us evidence of your relationship to, or responsibility for, that person. You must also show us proof of your identity.

Step 1.  Learn what original documents you will need.

The Social Security Administration can accept only certain documents as proof of U.S. citizenship. These include a U.S. birth certificate or a U.S. passport.

Age

You must present your birth certificate. If one exists, you must submit it. If a birth certificate does not exist, we may be able to accept your:

Religious record made before the age of 5 showing your date of birth;

U.S. hospital record of your birth; or

U.S. passport.

Anyone age 12 or older requesting an original Social Security number must appear in person for an interview. We will ask for evidence to show you do not have a Social Security number. Here are examples of documents you can use to prove a Social Security number was never assigned:

If you lived outside the United States for an extended period, a current or previous passport, school and/or employment records, and any other record that would show long-term residence outside the United States could be used to show you do not have a Social Security number.

If you have lived in the United States and you are applying for an original Social Security number, we may ask you for information about the schools you attended or we may ask you to provide copies of tax records that would show you were never assigned a Social Security number.

Identity

The Social Security Administration can accept only certain documents as proof of identity. An acceptable document must be current (not expired) and show your name, identifying information (date of birth or age) and preferably a recent photograph. For example, as proof of identity Social Security must see your:

U.S. driver’s license;

State-issued non-driver identification card; or

U.S. passport.

If you do not have one of these specific documents or you cannot get a replacement for one of them within 10 days, we will ask to see other documents. Any documents submitted, including the following, must be current (not expired) and show your name, identifying information (date of birth or age) and preferably a recent photograph:

Employee identification card;

School identification card;

Health insurance card (not a Medicare card); or

U.S. military identification card.

Step 2.  Fill out Form SS-5 Application for a Social Security Card.

Step 3.  Take your application and other documents to your local Social Security Administration office.

You will need your Social Security Card to get a job, collect Social Security Benefits and get other government benefits.  Follow the steps above to get your Social Security Card.
